My favourite part of Seán O’Casey’s description of laughter as wine for the soul is the idea of laughter being ‘tinged through with seriousness’. He displays a deeper understanding of laughter beyond what it might appear to represent on the surface, just as a connoisseur of a fine wine reflects upon the depth of flavour and subtle aromas.
Is laughter like a fine wine for you, or is it more like a Vodka and Red Bull mixer? It makes you feel energised & better for short while, but there’s a strange aroma of a medicine from it, which makes you wonder if it’s going to work long term? Let me know your thoughts.
